Big guitars. Bigger keyboards. Killer bass lines. Huge drums. Unforgettable vocals. And choruses that everybody still knows decades later.

That's our territory.

Inner-State ’80s is a five-piece Northern California band built around exceptional musicianship and a genuine love for the music of the decade.

Our lineup combines powerhouse lead vocals, electric and acoustic guitar, keyboards, bass, drums and three-part vocal harmonies to recreate the energy and sound of the original recordings—live on stage.

And because we're musicians first, we're not locked into one narrow version of the ’80s.

One minute it's The Cars.

Then INXS.

Then Tears for Fears.

Then Billy Idol.

Then Toto, Journey, Loverboy, U2, The Cure or Duran Duran.

All part of the same decade—but each song has its own character.

We play the songs people came to hear—and we dig deeper when the right song makes the show better.

This is a concert, not background music.

A great 80s song deserves great vocals. Our lead singer brings the power, range and character these songs demand, backed by live two- and three-part harmonies throughout the show.

Our arrangements are built around the actual strengths of the band: guitar, keyboards, acoustic guitar, bass, drums and vocals.
